Independence Day

Today is the day we celebrate our countries 249 years of independence. Every family has their traditions for celebrating, from grilling out to sitting on a lawn near the water watching fireworks exploding in the sky. One of my favorite memories as a child was going to the Woodland Mall area and watching the fireworks with my family and friends. Sitting on the grass with our cool beverages sweating, waiting for the show to begin. I wondered how they were able to create such spectacular images. It was spectacular, even when you got some soot on you because there were so many fireworks. As an adult now, I still love watching fireworks. It is an experience all ages can enjoy.

If you are unable to go to a fireworks show, you can bring the fireworks to your home in a safe way. For a patriotic party, you can use a patriotic colored tablecloth. For example you could choose a red and white-checkered tablecloth, then add blue plates, with red, white, and blue tinsel (imitating fireworks) as center pieces or you can use American flag like pinwheels (which can be party favors young children). Hanging in the trees could be patriotic fans and along the fence bunting or banners or garland. In your front yard, if allowed, can be an American flag or small flags lining the driveway.
